Saudi Arabia, 2025
Saudi agritech startup Arable has raised $2.55 million in seed funding to scale its hydroponic farming systems. The company builds controlled-environment farms designed for arid climates with a focus on high-efficiency water use and modular growing units.
The funding round included regional climate and food-focused investors. Arable will use the capital to expand production capacity, localize manufacturing and enhance its proprietary technology. The company currently operates pilot sites across multiple regions in the Kingdom.
Arable’s system is tailored to Saudi Arabia’s environmental conditions and offers a scalable model for increasing fresh produce availability without heavy groundwater reliance.
Commenting on the raise, Mohammed AlQurashi, Founder of Saudi FoodTech, said: “Arable’s seed funding success is a promising development for Saudi agritech. It reflects growing momentum in climate-smart farming and the broader shift toward sustainable local production. With water scarcity and food import dependency remaining key challenges, startups like Arable are showing how homegrown innovation can offer practical, scalable solutions that meet the needs of both today and tomorrow.”
