Terms of Use


The Site is operated by Alef Lam Co (referred to as “we/our/us”), a Saudi company operating under the Saudi Arabia Law.
This page (together with any documents referred to on it) sets out the terms of use (“Terms”) on which you may make use of this website (the “Site”). As a user of the Site (referred to as “you/your”), please read these Terms carefully before you start to use the Site. By using the Site, you indicate that you accept these Terms and that you agree to abide by them. If you do not accept these Terms and do not agree to abide by them, please refrain from using the Site immediately

Revised Terms of Use

We may revise these Terms at any time, without notice, by amending this page (and any documents referred to on it). You are expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we may make, as they are binding on you as soon as we make them. Some of the provisions contained in these Terms may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on the Site.

Accessing the Site

Access to the Site is provided on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw access to the Site or amend any service we provide on the Site without notice. We will not be liable if, for any reason, the Site is unavailable at any time or for any period.

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to the Site. You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access the Site through your Internet connection are aware of these Terms and that they comply with them. You agree not to damage, interfere with, or disrupt access to the Site, or do anything which may interrupt or impair its functionality.

Anything on the Site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update it. We seek to ensure that information published on the Site is accurate when posted, but we cannot be held liable for its accuracy or timeliness. We may change the information at any time without notice. You must not rely on information on the Site and you acknowledge that you must take appropriate steps to verify any such information before acting upon it.

Monitoring

We reserve the right to monitor and track your visits to the Site.

Communications with Other Users

The Site may provide facilities that enable you to communicate with other users of the Site. If you communicate with any other user of the Site, you must ensure that:

  • To the best of your knowledge and belief, any such communication is truthful and accurate in all respects;
  • No such communication shall be inappropriate, abusive, or objectionable; and
  • If applicable, you shall immediately comply with any request from any other user of the Site to stop communicating with them.

User Content (Including Directory Content)

Any information or materials we receive from you (including, without limitation, by email) and any material that you submit via the Site (“User Content”), which may include, without limitation, content for an online product and/or services directory (whether exclusively featuring exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees of an event or otherwise) (“Directory”), will be deemed non-confidential and non-proprietary. We reserve the right to use any such User Content on the Site and/or in any other website operated by us and/or in our offline publications, where we consider this appropriate.

You hereby grant to us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, edit, and publish such User Content on the Site and/or any other website operated by us and/or in our offline publications and for all other commercial and non-commercial purposes related to our business. If you do not wish to grant such rights, then please do not submit any User Content to us.

By submitting any User Content to us, you warrant that such User Content is your own original work and that you are fully entitled to make it available to us for all the purposes specified above. You also agree to waive any moral rights in the User Content.

Under no circumstances should you submit any User Content that:

  • Is inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, illegal, abusive, vulgar, obscene, inflammatory, of a discriminatory nature, in breach of confidence or privacy, or which is otherwise unlawful, offensive, or might reasonably cause offense to any person or damage our reputation. You must not use any abusive or aggressive language, swear, threaten, harass, or abuse any other person, including other users of the Site;
  • You do not own or for which you have not obtained all necessary licenses and approvals;
  • Is technically harmful including, without limitation, containing computer viruses, Trojan horses, worms, corrupted data, malicious software, or harmful data;
  • Misrepresents the user or impersonates another person or entity or falsely states or otherwise misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity.

Any User Content submitted to us is submitted on the basis that we may (but shall be under no obligation to) review and edit such User Content prior to publication. We reserve the right to remove any User Content or part thereof published on the Site at any time and for any reason at our absolute discretion without notification to you.

We do not endorse or accept any responsibility for the use of, or any content within, any such User Content or any content that features within any Directory or any website linked or referenced within any Directory. We will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, claim, or expense suffered or incurred by you and/or any of your personnel arising out of or in connection with the use of, or reliance on, any content, products, and/or services available on or through the Site, any Directory, or any other website.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless us and our directors, officers, employees, and other representatives from and against all liabilities, claims, demands, expenses, and costs arising out of your submission of User Content that breaches these Terms.

Where you purchase any Directory entry from us, the terms of any booking contract we agree with you shall apply to the purchase of that service.

Intellectual Property

We are the owner or the licensee of all copyright, trademarks, design rights, database rights, confidential information, or any other intellectual property rights (together, the “Intellectual Property”) in and on the Site. The Intellectual Property in and on the Site is protected by various laws and treaties around the world. All rights are reserved to us.

Flash Cookies and How to Manage Them

We may provide videos and other content through the Site using Adobe Flash Player, which uses Flash Cookies (also known as Local Shared Objects) to provide useful features such as auto-resume and the ability to save your preferences. Flash Cookies are placed on your computer or other device in much the same way as other cookies. However, it is not possible to manage them in the same way through your internet browser settings. License

You are permitted to print and download extracts from the Site for your own use on the following basis:

  • No documents or related graphics on the Site are modified in any way;
  • No graphics on the Site are used separately from the corresponding text; and
  • Our copyright and trademark notices and the permission given in these Terms must appear in all copies.

The use of any extract from the Site otherwise than in accordance with the above license provisions (for any purpose) is prohibited. If you breach any of the above license provisions, your permission to use the Site automatically terminates, and you must immediately destroy any printed or downloaded extracts from the Site.

The Site may not be reproduced or stored, as a whole or in part, in any other website, or included in any public or private electronic retrieval system or service, without our prior written permission. Any rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. You agree not to adapt, alter, or create any derivative works from any of the material contained in the Site, or use such material for any purpose other than for personal, non-commercial use.

Misuse of the Site

You must not alter, add to, delete, remove, or tamper with the Site or any part of it, or indirectly disrupt or interfere (or attempt to disrupt or interfere) with or alter the Site. You must not misuse the Site by knowingly introducing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, the server on which the Site is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to the Site. You must not attack the Site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack.

You must not access the Site for unlawful use, including, without limitation, use which would constitute a criminal offense. You hereby agree to indemnify and keep us indemnified on demand for any costs, claims, liabilities, fines, expenses, demands, proceedings, and losses whatsoever made against or incurred by us as a direct or indirect result of your breach of this paragraph.

We will not be liable for any loss, disruption, or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data, or other proprietary material due to your use of the Site or your downloading of any material posted on it or on any website linked to it. We recommend that you take measures to protect the security of your computer, including, without limitation, installing anti-virus software on your computer.

Links to the Site

Where we authorize you to link to the Site, you may include a link to the Site provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval, or endorsement on our part where none exists. You must not establish a link to the Site in any website that is not owned by you. We may withdraw our authorization for you to link to the Site at any time without notice.

Disclaimer

While we endeavor to ensure that the information on the Site is correct, we do not warrant the accuracy and completeness of the material on the Site. We may make changes to the material on the Site at any time and without notice. The material on the Site may be out of date, and we make no commitment to update such material.

Implied Terms

The express provisions of these Terms are in place of all warranties, conditions, terms, undertakings, and obligations implied by statute, common law, trade usage, course of dealing, or otherwise, all of which are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Liability

The material on the Site is provided “as is”. We and any third party (whether or not involved in creating, producing, maintaining, or delivering the Site and including, without limitation, any and all entities within the Alef Lam Co group) hereby exclude any and all liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or damage that may result to you or a third party (including, without limitation, any:
(i) direct, indirect, punitive or consequential loss or damage,
(ii) loss of income, profits, goodwill, data, contracts or use of money, or
(iii) loss or damage arising from or connected in any way to business interruption,
and whether any of the foregoing are in tort, contract, or otherwise) in connection with the Site, including the use, inability to use, or the results of use of the Site.

We are not responsible for the content of external websites. The Site may include links to external websites from time to time, and when you access these links, you may leave the Site. These links are provided for your convenience. External websites are not part of the Site, and we do not endorse or accept any responsibility for the content of external websites (nor the products or services on them), are not responsible for the availability of external websites, and will not be liable in any way for any loss or damage which you may suffer by using external websites, including, without limitation, viruses that may infect computer equipment, software, data, or other property. If you decide to access linked external websites, you do so at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for:
(i) death or personal injury caused by negligence, or
(ii) fraud.

Investors

The information contained on the Site (including, without limitation, any financial information concerning us or the Alef Lam Co group) is not an invitation to invest in shares, other securities, or any other products or services, or otherwise deal in these or enter into a contract with us or any other entity. The information provided should not be relied upon in connection with any investment decision. If you need advice, please consult with a professional financial advisor. The past performance of us or any other entity referred to on the Site cannot be relied upon as a guide to its future performance. The price of shares and the income derived from them can go down as well as up, and investors may not recoup the amount originally invested.

Visitor Terms & Conditions
Important information for visitors to our events

These terms and conditions apply to visitor registrations for, and attendance at, events (each an “Event”) organized by Alef Lam Co (referred to as “we/our/us”).

As a potential visitor to an Event (referred to as “you/your”), please read these terms and conditions carefully as they contain important information. By submitting your registration and/or by attending an Event, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. As part of accepting these terms and conditions, you are also accepting our Event Code of Conduct.

  1. Your registration (whether submitted directly by you or on your behalf) constitutes an offer by you to Alef Lam to attend the Event in accordance with these terms and conditions. All registrations are subject to acceptance by Alef Lam. If your registration is received in advance of the Event, it will either: (a) be confirmed in writing (including, without limitation, by email), or (b) if written confirmation is not sent within fourteen (14) days of us receiving your registration, be deemed to be confirmed unless we notify you otherwise. If your registration is received only at the Event itself, it will be confirmed by the act of Alef Lam permitting you entrance to the Event. Alef Lam reserves the right to refuse to accept any registration.
  2. Your registration is issued for your personal use only. You may not sell or otherwise transfer your registration to others.
  3. Alef Lam reserves the right at any time to change the format (including, without limitation, from a physical Event to a virtual Event and vice versa), content, location, venue, opening hours, duration, dates, other timings, participants and/or any other aspect of the Event, in each case without liability. Alef Lam reserves the right to withdraw any registration after confirmation without liability.
  4. Save as expressly set out in these terms and conditions and/or as may be otherwise expressly advised as part of the particular Event’s registration process: (a) your registration for the Event is irrevocable and you have no rights to cancel your registration, and (b) any registration fees you have paid will not be refunded for any reason.
  5. Alef Lam reserves the right to cancel or change the date(s) of the Event at any time and for any reason (whether or not due to causes beyond our reasonable control). In the event that the date(s) of the Event are changed to new date(s) that are within twelve (12) months of the originally scheduled opening date of the Event, or where the Event is cancelled but is reasonably expected by Alef Lam to be held at any time in the next calendar year, then, unless we notify you otherwise, your registration will be deemed to be valid for the Event on the new date(s) or when it is next staged (as applicable) in the same way that it would have applied to the originally scheduled Event (and no refund of any paid registration fees will be issued). Where all or part of the Event is cancelled and is not reasonably expected by Alef Lam to be held in the next calendar year, then your registration will no longer be deemed to be valid for the Event (or the cancelled portion of the Event, as applicable) and, at your election, any paid registration fees for the Event (or the cancelled portion of the Event, as applicable) will be refunded or a credit note issued for the same, and you will be released from paying any further amount of registration fees for the Event (or the cancelled portion of the Event, as applicable). Service charges are non-refundable. Personal arrangements, including, without limitation, travel and accommodation, are at your own risk and Alef Lam will not be liable for any costs relating to such arrangements, even if the Event is cancelled or moved to new date(s). You acknowledge and agree that the provisions of this paragraph set out your sole remedy in the event of cancellation or the changing of the date(s) of the Event and all other liability of Alef Lam is hereby expressly excluded.
  6. Our Events, whether physical or virtual, are principally directed at business professionals. They are generally not intended for children under the age of sixteen (16). Without limitation to the foregoing, there may be some areas of our Events where it is inappropriate or impractical for children under the age of sixteen (16) to be present (for example, during executive conference workshops) and Alef Lam reserves the right at any time to restrict entry to such areas accordingly.
  7. Alef Lam reserves the right without liability to refuse admission to, or to eject/block from, the Event (whether physical or virtual) any person in its absolute discretion, including (without limitation) any person who fails to comply with these terms and conditions or who, in the opinion of Alef Lam, represents a security risk, nuisance or annoyance to the running of the Event. You agree to comply with all reasonable instructions issued by Alef Lam, the venue owners, security personnel and/or management at the Event.
  8. All unauthorized filming, livestreaming, sound recording, and photography of the Event, and all unauthorized transmission of audio or visual material at the Event, by you is expressly prohibited. You agree: (a) to surrender to Alef Lam or destroy on demand any material in whatever media recorded in violation of this paragraph, (b) that the copyright and other intellectual property rights in any such material shall vest in Alef Lam unconditionally and immediately on the creation of such material, and (c) to hold Alef Lam and all entities within the Alef Lam Group (as well as any employees or other representatives of the same) harmless against any claims made in respect of such unauthorized activities. Prior written approval of Alef Lam is required to conduct any filming, livestreaming, sound recording, and photography of the Event.
  9. You consent to filming, sound recording, and photography at the Event, which may include, without limitation, filming, sound recording, and photography featuring your image (the “Content”). You acknowledge and agree that Alef Lam is the sole and exclusive owner of all rights in the Content and hereby waive any and all: (a) rights in and to such Content, and (b) claims that you may have relating to or arising from the Content and/or its use. Without limitation, Alef Lam shall be permitted to use the Content anywhere in the World for promotional and other purposes, without any payment or compensation.
  10. The personal information that you provide to Alef Lam will be held by us on a database and, where we have appropriate authorization/justification (which may include, without limitation, express/implied consent or legitimate interests), may be shared with other entities within the Alef Lam Group and selected third parties internationally for promotional and other purposes. Your personal information may also be shared with government entities and regulatory authorities as required by law. At some Events, exhibitors and sponsors may use lead capture applications or barcode scanner devices. If you choose to allow your badge (whether physical or digital) to be scanned by third parties at the Event, we may pass your personal information to such third parties. Further, there may be certain areas of the Event at which your attendance is conditional on your personal information being provided to third parties that have sponsored or are managing such areas. The use that any third parties make of your personal information is outside of Alef Lam‘s control and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not accept any liability in this regard.   11. For virtual Events only: (a) you undertake to be responsible for any technical requirements needed to enable you to access the Event website, app, or other platform (the “Event Platform”) made available by Alef Lam to facilitate participation in the Event. We do not guarantee that the Event Platform will operate continuously, securely, or without errors or interruption, and we do not accept any liability for its temporary unavailability. We do not guarantee that the Event Platform and/or any content thereon (including, without limitation, any content available for download) will be free from viruses, infections, Trojan horses, worms and/or any other code that has contaminating or destructive properties. You must not attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Event Platform (for example, by attempting to circumvent security or tamper with, hack into or otherwise disrupt any computer system, server, website, router or any other internet-connected device). You agree to comply with any website terms of use and/or fair or acceptable use policies indicated on any website on which the Event Platform is hosted, (b) we do not endorse or accept any responsibility for the content, or the use of, any goods or services that may be identified or described on the Event Platform and we shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of, or reliance on, any content, goods or services available on or through the Event Platform or any website or other resource referenced therein, (c) Alef Lam may issue you with a username and password. Usernames and passwords are confidential and remain the property of Alef Lam at all times and may not be sold, assigned or transferred to any third party without our permission. Your username and password are personal to you. You hereby agree that you will not permit others to use your username or password and you will be and remain liable for the acts of any person using your username and password, (d) any posts, messages or other materials, information or data you supply or upload to the Event Platform (collectively, “Materials”) will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary, and we have the right to use, copy, distribute and disclose to third parties any such Materials for any purpose. You warrant that any Materials you submit comply with these terms and do not infringe any rights of any third party (including intellectual property and privacy rights). You agree that Alef Lam will not be responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury caused by your Materials.
  12. If you have any dietary or accessibility requirements, please notify us as soon as possible so we can make reasonable accommodations.
  13. You accept full responsibility for any activity at the Event that you participate in and acknowledge that there may be physical risks associated with participating in certain activities.
  14. Alef Lam is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained during your attendance at the Event unless caused by its negligence.
  15. Alef Lam reserves the right to amend or update these terms and conditions at any time, and the updated terms will be posted on the website.
  16. In the case of any discrepancy or conflict between the terms of different languages, the English version will prevail.
  17. Disclaimer for Activities
    You should consider carefully whether or not you will be able to participate in any activities offered as part of the visitor programme. Alef Lam warns that some activities may be physically demanding and/or carry inherent dangers. You understand that some exercise-based activities may be a risk to your physical health and safety if you do not perform them correctly. You accept that, if a visitor programme exists for the Event you are attending, it is entirely your responsibility to decide whether or not participation in any activity offered as part of the visitor programme is appropriate to your capabilities, aptitude, fitness, and health. If you have any concerns about your capabilities, aptitude, fitness, and/or health to participate, you should consult with (and follow the recommendations of) a medical professional prior to engaging in any activity. If at any time during any activity you feel unwell or consider that it is unsafe for you to continue, please stop the activity immediately and seek appropriate advice. You also accept that it is entirely your responsibility to observe all health and safety requirements and instructions that you may be given in relation to activities. If you are participating in any activity that is offered virtually for participation in a home or office environment, you should ensure that your environment is safe, provides adequate space, and is free of dangerous or hazardous objects and materials. Alef Lam and all entities within the Alef Lam Group (as well as any employees or other representatives of the same) exclude all liability for any loss, injury, disease, or damage whatsoever that you may suffer in connection with or arising from your participation in any activities offered as part of the visitor programme (including, without limitation, any activities held outside of, or incidentally to, the main Event that you are attending), whether direct, indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive loss, injury or damage (including, without limitation, injury or disease to persons, property damage, theft, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss or corruption of data, or any other type of economic loss, injury or damage) or otherwise. The limitations and exclusions in this paragraph only apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.
