Saudi Arabia Raises Poultry Self-Sufficiency to 60% in 2024

Saudi Arabia, 2025
Saudi Arabia increased its poultry self-sufficiency rate to 60 percent in 2024, marking steady progress toward national food production goals. The improvement reflects investments in breeding, feed and processing infrastructure along with government incentives and industry support.

Producers have adopted a mix of digital monitoring, automation and cold chain upgrades to expand capacity while maintaining product quality. The rise in domestic output reduces reliance on imports and contributes to the Kingdom’s broader food security objectives under Vision 2030.

Commenting on the update, Mohammed AlQurashi, Founder of Saudi FoodTech, said: “Increasing poultry self-sufficiency is a strategic priority. Reaching the 60 percent mark reflects the kind of coordinated effort and innovation that will continue to move the sector forward. It also highlights the strength of public-private collaboration in building capacity and shows how measurable progress can be achieved when there is alignment across the ecosystem.”

Saudi FoodTech supports the poultry value chain through innovation programming, policy roundtables and ecosystem engagement that highlights scalable local production.
