Saudi FoodTech: Ninja Becomes Fastest Saudi Unicorn, Powering a New Era of Tech, Retail, and Quick Commerce

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – July 2, 2025
Saudi FoodTech congratulates Ninja, Saudi Arabia’s fastest-growing tech startup, on achieving unicorn status following its recent $250 million funding round at a $1.5 billion valuation. In just three years since its founding, Ninja has become the fastest Saudi tech company to reach unicorn status, underscoring the Kingdom’s rise as a leading hub for innovation, investment, and technology-driven services.

Founded in 2022, Ninja built its success on a network of 100 grocery dark stores across 28 cities, delivering essential goods and restaurant orders with unmatched speed and efficiency. The company is already profitable in its core operations and is on track to exceed $1 billion in revenue by the end of 2025. With plans to expand its dark store network to over 200 locations, Ninja continues to set the pace for rapid commerce in the region.

As part of its ambitious growth strategy, Ninja has begun expanding into new categories, including pharmacy services, cosmetics, perfumes, and telemedicine. Through its app, customers can access medical consultations, receive e-prescriptions, and benefit from medication delivery — often within 20 minutes, significantly faster than traditional players. While still a recent addition to Ninja’s offering, this move reflects the growing demand for integrated, on-demand consumer services in Saudi Arabia.

The latest funding round, led by local investors, positions Ninja for its next chapter: preparing for an initial public offering by 2027 as it scales operations and deepens its market leadership.

“Saudi Arabia is emerging as a global center for technology, entrepreneurship, and rapid commerce,” said Mohammed AlQurashi, Founder of Saudi FoodTech. “Ninja’s record-breaking growth shows what’s possible when visionary startups meet a supportive ecosystem. It’s a powerful signal of the opportunities ahead in food, retail, and integrated digital services.”

Ninja’s success is part of a broader wave of Saudi tech companies reshaping industries and attracting international attention — a testament to Vision 2030’s impact on fostering innovation and economic diversification.
